US President Donald Trump says a ceasefire between Israel and Iran is “now in effect” and tells both countries: “Please do not violate it!”
Trump announced the ceasefire several hours ago, hinting that Israeli leader, Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to the move, but Israel is yet to officially comment while Iran says it will only stop its attacks if Israel does the same.
Meanwhile, Israel says four people were killed in overnight attacks from Iran; state media in Tehran report that “a last round of missiles” was fired before the ceasefire came into effect
Tehran also faced a barrage of attacks overnight, our reporter says; “I feel traumatised,” one resident said.
In Iran, state media says the ceasefire was “imposed” on Israel following the “successful” Iran attack on the US base in Qatar on Monday
